RAIMEI is a company dedicated to regenerating the cornea using iPS cell technologies developed by Professor Koji Nishida of the Department of Ophthalmology, Osaka University.

Although corneal diseases do not directly risk death, they cause a significant loss of quality of life due to poor vision, and there are currently no effective treatments other than donor-assisted transplant surgeries.

Regenerative medicine is a new treatment aimed at reconstructing lost tissue, and the application of regenerative medicine to corneal diseases may restore sight.

Various cellular products can be considered as materials for corneal regeneration, but we believe that iPS cells are the most suitable material considering the ease of mass production and their persistent action.

Using iPS cells as a starting material, we believe we can deliver more effective products at the lowest possible cost to patients in need of corneal transplants.

There are still challenges to overcome before regenerative medicine products using iPS cells can be put to practical use, but we are overcoming these challenges one by one with the concerted effort of all concerned, and we believe that practical use is just around the corner.

We will make every effort to deliver iPS cell products to patients as soon as possible.
