P.S. i LOVE YOU PROJECT

The “P.S. i LOVE YOU” PROJECT

On February 14, 2022, the CiRA Foundation launched the “P.S. i LOVE YOU” PROJECT with 19 participating companies and 18 groups. The purpose of this project is to expand the circle of people who support us in developing regenerative medicine using iPS cell technologies. The CiRA Foundation is a public interest incorporated foundation established by Kyoto University with its main office in Kyoto, Japan.

It has been 15 years since Shinya Yamanaka, Representative Director of the CiRA Foundation, published his study describing the establishment of human iPS cells in 2007. Through the hard work of numerous researchers, the research and development of new medical therapies using iPS cells have greatly progressed. Moreover, clinical applications of some of these therapies have begun.

The CiRA Foundation manufactures iPS cell stock, which is available as material for cell products, and cell banks, which hold the iPS cell stock. Our model is to collaborate with non-profit institutions and companies through information sharing, acting as a cluster for knowledge and technology. We are also developing next-generation iPS cells to solve the issues of quality, time, and cost. Ultimately, our work is advance the availability of medical therapies using iPS cells throughout the world.

For regenerative medicine using iPS cells to become standard medical care, we believe that universities, the CiRA Foundation, and relevant companies must work closely together.

As part of this effort, the CiRA Foundation and its partners are dedicated to communicating our work with the general public.

We appreciate your support.
