When I was a resident doctor, I was assigned to a male university student hospitalized for dilated cardiomyopathy.

He couldn't move from his bed all day long.

He was out of breath as if he had finished a run at the full speed, just by having him wheelchaired to a lavatory.

He looked tormented by anxiety, fear, and despair that he was going to die.

At that time, he had no option but to wait for a heart transplant, and we also had nothing we could do.

However, in near future, with our new treatment, we may be able to alleviate the feelings he was experiencing.

It will be an immense pleasure if we achieve our goal to help such patients even a little.
